Spring and summer in Iowa usually means the threat of severe weather and tornadoes. If severe weather has been reported, please make your way to the community building’s laundry room until the weather blows over. The registration office will also have a local television on during any storm warnings. Upon arrival, it’s also good to change your weather settings to Amana’s zip code: 52203 for the most up-to-date weather changes.

Why are there little to no trees?

The Amana RV Park & Event Center was originally created for the World AG Expo in 1988. Each lot was reserved for agri-business vendors to display their equipment, therefore trees were not a priority at that time. Farm Progress Show was later contracted to hold their annual event on the grounds, making it difficult to plant new trees. Now, management is in the process of planting trees throughout the property for your comfort and the beautification of the park.

May we bring our pet with us?

Pets are definitely welcome at the Amana RV Park & Event Center as long as they are leashed, waste disposed of, and not disrupting other campers. Absolutely no pets are allowed in the restrooms on-site. Furthermore, no pet bedding should be washed in our laundry machines. Those found violating this policy will be asked to leave the park.

May specific campsites be requested?

Your favorite campsite can always be requested when making reservations. Staff will do their best to accommodate requests, but our policy is to only guarantee site classes and not specific campsites. This is because possible water or electric issues may come up on the requested site and we’d have to move you.

Can we setup a tent on our full-hookup or water/electric campsite?

Along with your RV, a tent can be set-up as long as it’s within the designated gravel drive you were assigned. If you choose to have a tent on-site, an extra $10 fee will be added to your campsite rate per night.

Why haven't I seen any Amish people in Amana?

The Amana people emerged as part of the Pietist movement in Germany while the Amish people have their roots in the Anabaptist movement. Our close proximity to the Amish population in Kalona, Iowa, along with similar sounding names, are a large reason why so many get the two groups confused. If you’d like more information on the communal history of the Amana Colonies, please visit the Amana Heritage Museum!
