Additional adults may be added to the party for a $3 fee. Each campsite comes equipped with water and electricity, with a majority of the campsites now having sewer hookups and 50-amp service. All of our campsites are back-in and 4 units share one electrical pedestal, we do not have traditional pull-thru sites. Pull-thru campsites may be requested as they are available, $10 will be added to your campsite rate per night, giving you 150 feet of camping space! During the season we like to spread campers out throughout the park for ample space and privacy, but there are times such as festival weekends and rallies that space becomes more limited.
The Amana RV Park & Event Center staff strives to make your stay fantastic! If you arrive and are displeased with your campsite, please notify a staff member and they will do their best to accommodate you. However, during rallies, events, and festival weekends many campsites are already spoken for.
We love having long-term campers at the Amana RV Park & Event Center! The monthly rate is $600 plus tax and includes water, electric, and sewer. A signed long-term agreement is required and the rate can be prorated after the first month. You are not required to mow your campsite, we just ask that items on your site be picked up so staff can mow or weed whip the site each Wednesday. We have gotten a diverse group of long-term campers over the past few seasons; including traveling nurses, construction workers, full-time families, foreign travelers, and folks who just like staying with us!
Golf carts are allowed within the RV park grounds as long as a licensed driver is behind the wheel. Authorities will be notified if anyone without proper identification is found behind the wheel. ATV’s are not permitted.
Spring and summer in Iowa usually means the threat of severe weather and tornadoes. If severe weather has been reported, please make your way to the community building’s laundry room until the weather blows over. The registration office will also have a local television on during any storm warnings. Upon arrival, it’s also good to change your weather settings to Amana’s zip code: 52203 for the most up-to-date weather changes.
The Amana RV Park & Event Center was originally created for the World AG Expo in 1988. Each lot was reserved for agri-business vendors to display their equipment, therefore trees were not a priority at that time. Farm Progress Show was later contracted to hold their annual event on the grounds, making it difficult to plant new trees. Now, management is in the process of planting trees throughout the property for your comfort and the beautification of the park.
Pets are definitely welcome at the Amana RV Park & Event Center as long as they are leashed, waste disposed of, and not disrupting other campers. Absolutely no pets are allowed in the restrooms on-site. Furthermore, no pet bedding should be washed in our laundry machines. Those found violating this policy will be asked to leave the park.
Your favorite campsite can always be requested when making reservations. Staff will do their best to accommodate requests, but our policy is to only guarantee site classes and not specific campsites. This is because possible water or electric issues may come up on the requested site and we’d have to move you.
Along with your RV, a tent can be set-up as long as it’s within the designated gravel drive you were assigned. If you choose to have a tent on-site, an extra $10 fee will be added to your campsite rate per night.
Packages and mail deliveries are accepted at the Amana RV Park & Event Center. Please use PO Box 345 or 3850 C. Street, Amana Iowa. If you’re here for a rally, please indicate so on the parcel. Smaller packages and mail are picked up every day and will be waiting for you at the registration office. Larger packages are delivered by FedEx and UPS throughout the day. A campground host will notify you when mail arrives.

In the middle of the park you’ll find the community building which holds our laundry room, library, and small community room. Laundry is $2.00 to wash and $1.00 to dry. In the library you’ll find puzzles, books, and a small selection of movies. If you’re traveling with a small group and need a place to gather, the community room is often available. Check with campground staff to ensure a rally has not reserved it.

The Amana RV Park & Event Center hosts over 40 events each season and many are open to the public including Becksterfest, WoodFest, Firecracker 4th Antique Show, Cedar Valley Rocks & Minerals, and many flyball or dog events. There are events such as weddings and family reunions held on-site, so we ask that you please respect those private functions. Of course there are events almost every weekend in the Amana Colonies that might spark your interest, including our famous festivals! Check-out the events section of our website for more information.
The Amana people emerged as part of the Pietist movement in Germany while the Amish people have their roots in the Anabaptist movement. Our close proximity to the Amish population in Kalona, Iowa, along with similar sounding names, are a large reason why so many get the two groups confused. If you’d like more information on the communal history of the Amana Colonies, please visit the Amana Heritage Museum!
